This is our favorite salad. It’s delicious. It’s amazing. It has bacon.
If you’re following the Trim Healthy Mama plan, this is an S – Satisfying meal. If you’re not following THM, I urge you to make this salad. Even Mark likes it.
Gwen’s homemade ranch dressing is perfect for you “from scratch” cooks. If you’re not a purist, you can buy a good quality ranch.
Bacon Cheeseburger Salad
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 tsp. Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
- ranch dressing
- Toppings: bacon (fried and chopped), pickles (chopped), shredded cheese, fried potatoes (with more seasoned salt), diced tomatoes, onions, avocado, jalapeños, or anything else you like to add to a cheeseburger
Fry the ground beef with 1/4 tsp. season salt. Cook thoroughly and set aside. In a bed of lettuce, layer your cooked beef, cheese and toppings.
A few notes…
Fried Potatoes. They are delicious and I highly recommend adding them to the salad IF your eating plan allows. If you’re following Trim Healthy Mama, those potatoes push you over to CrossOver mode. If you don’t follow this particular eating plan, add em. They sound weird but are really good. I just fry my cubed up potatoes in lots of butter and seasoned salt. Crispy edges. Yum!
Since eating THM style, I’ve omitted the potatoes from my Bacon Cheeseburger Salad. It’s still yummy but you better bet I’m adding potatoes to my salad once I’m on maintenance mode.
The pickles aren’t optional. Neither is the bacon.
We make our salads individually so we can have our preferred toppings. It ends up looking more like a Cheeseburger bar.
Did I miss any toppings? I’d love to know what you like to add to your burger.
