Enhance Your Cookbook: A Step-by-Step Guide to Adding Images to Your Template

Hi everyone!  I have updated the Microsoft Word Cookbook Template with recipe images and I’m so excited to share that with you today! The original template I shared over a year ago mainly focused on creating and applying styles and including a table of contents.  A complete list of the posts I’ve published regarding cookbook creation is below:

Updating Cookbook Template with Recipe Images

Today, it’s all about pictures. I went to work on adjusting the template and figuring out the best way to incorporate photos after some wonderful reader questions about adding recipe images.  After plenty of trial, error, and research I have a solution.  I have found the easiest way to get consistency when incorporating recipe images.

For this video, I have two documents you may want to download to assist you in getting your Microsoft Word Cookbook Template with Recipe Images:

I have fully converted to using tables for my cookbooks because they work better with the consistency of formatting and the added ability to hide heading 1 & 2.  Even if you don’t intend to add pictures to your cookbook, it’s a great idea to use tables.

You will just need to make sure you edit your tables and play around with how they work with your cookbook before you fully incorporate them. To do this, I suggest you test out 10 recipes in your cookbook before you fully commit to how you have formatted your table template.

I am working on a follow-up video and post for this information.  But for now, the video below and templates in this post should get you well on your way to adding recipe images to your cookbook.

I promise we will delve into using table use for Heading 1 & Heading 2  soon, so stay tuned!
