I got to spend some time with my sister recently, (a rare treat). I love sisterly bonding time…it’s so nice especially when you live several states away from each other.

My sis has one of those fancy deep fryers so we plugged that puppy in and got to frying.  Donuts, cheese sticks, french fries, and dill pickles.

And as luck would have it she also has an AMAZING recipe for deep fried dill pickles.  She shared her recipe with me and now you all are beneficiaries!  Lucky you!!

*Now to make these healthier, I highly suggest you use refined coconut oil.  Refined means the there is more processing and the coconut taste is absent.  The place I like to buy bulk oils from is called Soaper’s Choice.   Don’t be freaked out by the name of the company.  Yes, they sell oil to soap makers, but their oil is food grade.  Love, love, love it!  In more recent years, I’ve found refined coconut oil at Costco.

The recipe, (below) is pretty straight forward and no fuss.  It is amazing!

Before we get to the recipe, the fryer we use is below.

Presto Dual Basket Deep Fryer

It is available on Amazon, here.  We purchased one and it works great!  But if you are not doing a lot of frying, you can just fry your pickles in a saucepan.

  1. Hi! This has nothing to do with fried pickles (though they look delicious). My boyfriend and I recently remodeled and moved into an older RV to drive across the US and settle down in California. We used many of the posts on your blog as inspiration to help us remodel our RV. We especially liked the one about painting the cabinets white. Seeing how good your white cabinets looked inspired us to paint ours white as well, which totally changed the look of the interior (for the better, of course)! I just wanted to thank you for writing so many helpful articles. We had no idea what we were getting into, but reading your blog made the remodel much easier!

    1. I’m so happy to have helped!! I was pretty nervous about the endeavor but it helps to know that normal people can do it too! (and the deep fried pickles are delicious) – LOL!
